Enhancing Transparency in the Healthcare Sector

Through the United Society Against Fraud, Waste and Abuse (USAID USAWA Program), TI-Kenya is working to make healthcare in Kenya better for everyone by improving transparency and enforcement of regulations.  

Within this month, TI-Kenya had inception meetings in Isiolo, Kakamega, Kilifi, Mombasa and Nakuru counties to introduce the USAID USAWA Program to key stakeholders as part of collaborative efforts in implementing the program.   

Further, TI-Kenya undertook a three-day training program designed to build the capacity of trainers on health governance and anti-corruption in Kakamega County, while in Mombasa County, we undertook a three-day training program for stakeholders from Mombasa and Kilifi to enhance their skills in advocacy, social accountability, budget advocacy and anti-corruption.  

USAID USAWA Program is part of the county support programs for Effective Governance & Citizen Participation funded by USAID. USAID USAWA Program implemented by Transparency International Kenya as the prime awardee and in partnership with other non-profit organisations, including the Association of Media Women in KenyaGlobal Compact Network Kenya and the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya.
